Weekly Review:
Lucy Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker. If you know their names, then you already know what I am about to tell you. If aren’t familiar, here is your chance to hop on this bandwagon because it’s going places. This “super group” of sorts is the combination of three uber talented musicians that have tasted success as solo artists but through friendship and circumstance found themselves forming the band boygenius. A jab at the classification of the term “Female Indie Rock,” the gender does not change the root of the classification. Indie Rock is Indie Rock. Genius is Genius.
When it came time to record, each artist brought one finished song and one idea. While individually crafted, they were finished together making them the perfect blend of each artists’ style. Those six songs are what make up the self titled EP.
The most interesting of the group is Baker, only because her most sincere work is just her and a guitar. It’s hard to imagine how her one-on-one style could translate into something of this magnitude but she is a key piece. Each artist bares all, with deeply personal and sincere lyrics that are filled with emotion and vulnerability. Don’t mistake it for all sullen songs and sadness, a quick YouTube search brings to light that these three are having the blast that you’d expect three friends to have on tour.
Solo or group, there is a very bright future for these three. I am excited to be on the bandwagon early so I can enjoy the ride. -Brad Simmons

Houndmouth – Golden Age
The release of ‘Golden Age’ marks Houndmouth’s third studio album. The trio from Indiana has delivered ten new songs for our spinning enjoyment and they are happily received…
The album opens with a space-travel-esque intro on ‘Never Forget’, which is an 80’s grove with distortion backdrop that let’s the listener know from the start that all is going to be well, just sit back and enjoy the ride.
It’s difficult to compare Houndmouth to any other band which is never a bad thing to be your own band, they remind me of an upbeat Vampire Weekend, though with many more distortions and such.
These distortions and such are what gives Houndmouth their unique sound, at the end of ‘Young Again’, for example, come sounds like doors creaking open (or big alligators vocalising). These touches do not take away the enjoyment of listening to the album, and the album is just easy to listen and enjoy.
My personal highlight of the album is ‘This Party‘. Not only is this a great upbeat tune, it also has a slowed down piano section with great vocals.
Overall, ‘Golden Age’ is a good and pleasant-to-listen-to Indie album, in the unique style that is Houndmouth’s own. – Albert Schmurr

Weekly Review:
This is Taylor Swift’s sixth album and my third favorite. She makes really good songs she puts on a wild, crazy, fun concert. Some of the best songs on the album are….
Ready for it makes you want to get up and dance. It’s really good pop music that helps you get your energy out. It has an interesting bass line, and is a great car song. At times, it can sound like two different songs, but they work together.
End Game is something you would like to listen to at a special occasion – its really good to dance to, it has good beats, and Logic and Ed Sheeran rap which is awesome. It will get you up to dance all the time.
Delicate starts with auto tune and then picks up the tune and the tempo. Its one of the more cheerful songs on the record.
King of my Heart like many of the songs on the record starts with stripped down sound and then builds louder and more crazy.
During her concert they had a bunch of giant drums that came out for this song.
The packaging is a gatefold and it comes with two records that have Taylor Swift pictures on them. Overall, its a good record and I recommend it. Quinn – Age 7
