3 Rules to Remember When Growing Weed at Home

As much as we would love to say a home cultivation card gives you the green light to grow on your terms, that’s not the case. Now, the 7th Heaven family has never been the type to follow rules. However, we’d prefer to not see our loyal customers arrested if we can help it.

So, with that in mind, here are a few important rules you need to remember for growing at home. All of these rules, as well as several others, are all outlined by the Missouri Department of Health.

Some Rules for Home Cultivation

Rule #1: If and when you do get your home cultivation license, you’ll only be allowed to grow with one other person who also has a home cultivation license. You’ll both obviously need your medical marijuana license as well. However, the good news is that both patients and caregivers can have a cultivation license. And it can be any combination of the two, whether it’s two caregivers, two patients, or one of each.

Rule #2: Unfortunately, there’s going to be a limit on the number of plants you can grow at home. If you’re growing by yourself, you’re allowed to have six flowering plants, six non-flowering plants, and six clones in your space.

If another person shares your space with you and they’re a patient, that total doubles. Now you can have 12 of each plant in your space. And if one of the people in your space is the primary caregiver for another patient, you can actually grow up to 18 flowering plants, 18 non-flowering plants, and 18 clones in your space. There are also height limits to consider, as clones can’t be over 14 inches tall.

Rule #3: When you are growing, it’s a rule that all plants must be in a facility that’s both closed and locked. You’ll also need to show all of the security measures you’ve taken at your “facility” to ensure that only you, or you and the person sharing your space with, are the only people with access. You’ll also need to display proper identification at all times in case of inspection.

Keep in mind that these are just a few of the main rules and that these situations are always fluid. We know, it’s boring as hell to read all of those documents. The fine print is important, though, to make sure you stay out of preventable legal trouble.
